Since choosing my project, Landscapes: The Beauty of Nature and Cities of the World, I’ve started contributing to the WordPress Photo Directory by submitting my first five landscape photographs. It feels good to take the first steps toward my goal and contribute images that other people may eventually use on their blogs and websites.
One thing I’ve enjoyed about this experience is the opportunity to combine creativity with community participation. Photography allows me to showcase different places and perspectives, and contributing to WordPress gives those images the potential to reach a wider audience.
Getting started has also been a learning experience. Understanding the contribution process and becoming familiar with the team’s guidelines took some time, but reviewing the available documentation helped me better understand what is expected and how to approach future submissions.
At the moment, I’ve submitted five out of my planned 30 photographs, which means I still have 25 to go. With the program deadline still more than a month away, I have time to continue working toward my goal, but I also know that I need to stay consistent and make steady progress rather than leave everything until the last minute.
My next step is to keep selecting suitable landscape photographs, submitting them to the Photo Directory, and learning more about the process along the way. I also want to pay attention to any feedback I receive so I can improve the quality of my contributions.
Overall, I’m happy to have started and to see my project moving forward. There is still work to do, but this experience is teaching me the value of consistency, patience, and contributing to something bigger than myself. I’m looking forward to making more progress before the program wraps up!
